Cat5 Resources Lead Generator Technician Dustin Taylor and Dr. Valentine President of LIT discuss the future of the LIT Power Generation Program

At Cat5 Resources, we believe that building a resilient future starts with investing in the next generation of skilled technicians. That’s why we’re proud to support educational institutions like Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT) as they work to strengthen technical education and workforce development.

Recently, our Lead Generator Technician, Dustin Taylor, visited LIT to meet with Dr. Valentine and discuss the future of the school’s Power Generation Program. While construction on the dedicated workshop hasn’t started just yet, the tour of the campus and the conversations about the program’s direction were full of promise.

Dustin provided insight on a range of topics—from curriculum development to industry software recommendations, all focused on helping students gain hands-on experience with the real-world tools and technologies used in the field today.

Once classes are underway, Dustin will have the opportunity to audit the program and offer guidance to help ensure the curriculum aligns with current industry standards and expectations. The goal isn’t just to educate—it’s to empower students with the tools and experience they need to succeed on day one in the field.

We’re grateful to Dr. Valentine and the entire LIT team for the warm welcome and their clear commitment to shaping a skilled, job-ready workforce. Partnerships like this help bridge the gap between education and industry—and we’re excited about what’s ahead.

Stay tuned for more updates as the program develops. We’re just getting started!
