You’re invited to join us for our 2023 Cat5 Resources Disaster Response Boot Camps which will provide training and orientation for those who have worked or intend to work with us during disaster response events and routine deployments. This event is open to both existing and prospective members of our Disaster Response team.

The Cat5 Resources Disaster Response Technician Boot Camps will offer training on various topics related to generator deployments, such as hardwiring generators to a site, fueling, mechanics, and more. This event is ideal for individuals seeking to enhance their knowledge and skills in these areas. Command Center Applicants are encouraged to attend this training as well.

Disaster Response Technician

Job Duties

  • Delivering fuel to customer sites
  • Deploying generators to customer sites
  • Hardwiring generators to customer sites
  • Starting generators when needed
  • Troubleshooting minor generator issues
  • Reporting required information into the command center(s)
  • Special projects as needed

 Requirements

  • Must possess basic electrical and/or mechanical knowledge
  • Must own a smart device (smartphone, laptop, and/or tablet)
  • Must own a reliable 1/2 ton (or larger) four wheel drive diesel truck if you wish to fuel or deploy generators
  • Must have a flexible schedule, storm crews are deployed on an as needed basis for disaster response events. However, lack of availability does not disqualify you from future deployments
  • Must have valid driver’s license, good driving record, and current vehicle insurance 
  • MUST BE 25 or OLDER. Cat5 is an equal opportunity employer however our insurance requirements state that anyone driving a vehicle on company time must be 25 or older. This is non-negotiable

Command Center Disaster Response Coordinator

Role: Communication liaison between Internal Command Center, Field Technicians and Customers during a Disaster Event.

Responsibilities

  • Provide site access details to technicians on site
  • Track tech activity and update customer systems in real time:
    • ETA’s
    • Tech Locations
    • Customer Equipment Movement
    • Site Power Status
    • Fueling Activity
  • Receive data close out package from field technicians and input data into customer system
  • Direct technician to resources they may need to stay working
  • Maintain a positive and encouraging attitude to field techs as they are working in stressful conditions
  • Communicate with your assigned teams routinely, and escalate issues to management as needed

Please be advised this is seasonal as needed employment only. We will notify approved personnel via call/text/or e-mail when we are deployed. Inability to deploy due to scheduling conflicts does not automatically disqualify you from future deployments.
