The job of a Civil Technician is established for the purposes of providing Civil services with specific responsibility for the installation of generators and automatic transfer switches along with other civil components in preparation of such installation from start to finish.

THIS POSITION REQUIRES EXTENSIVE TRAVEL AWAY FROM HOME – WEEKLY TRAVEL IS REQUIRED INCLUDING 2 WEEKENDS PER MONTH.

This position will be based out of Birmingham, AL, however, installs will be throughout the following states:

  • Texas
  • Louisiana
  • Alabama
  • Florida
  • Mississippi
  • Tennessee
  • Arkansas

The employee must have the following experience and capabilities:

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND CAPABILITIES:

  • Digging trenches
  • Installing h-frames
  • Installing flexible and PVC conduit
  • Installing concrete slabs
  • Installing automatic transfer switches
  • Installing generators (diesel, natural gas, propane)
  • Installing breakers and cabling
  • Pulling gooseneck trailers, flatbed trailers, box trailers, etc.
  • Operating forklifts, skid steers, etc.
  • Electrical knowledge (required)
  • Telecom Industry knowledge/experience preferred

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS DESIRED:

  • Electrical Apprentice or Journeyman License
  • CDL License
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
  • CPR/First Aid

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 25 years old
  • Valid Driver’s License required and good driving record
  • Must have or can obtain a DOT Medical Card
  • Must have the ability to work flexible hours and days and be willing to travel and stay overnight
  • Must know how to utilize a cell phone and computer to include taking and uploading photos, sending/responding to emails, visiting websites to input data, fill out forms, etc.
  • Must be able to work with a group, but also work independently once assigned a task
