CEO and principle founder of Cat5 Resources, Cindy Perez has a proven track record in the logistics and disaster recovery industries. In the early 90’s, she attended Penn State University and obtained a Certificate in Supply Chain Management and Logistics. With this certification and her prior work experience, she was promoted to Director of Logistics and Supply Chain Solutions at A-1 Freeman, an agent for Specialized Transportation, Inc. In this position, she provided oversight for the logistical needs of multiple Fortune 500 companies. Her outstanding ability afforded company wide recognition where she received many awards including top producer and top achiever.
Immediately following Hurricane Charley in 2004, Cindy was called upon to deploy approximately 800 generators to a wireless client’s cell sites and subsequently fueled these sites due to abandonment by the client’s fueling company. She was then afforded the opportunity to fuel their generators.
Cindy launched an emergency fueling venture that went on to become a $38 million dollar company. During her time there she built a team of logistics experts and secured several multi-million dollar contracts. The company responded to Hurricane Irene in September 2011 with a driver resource base of 50-60 drivers. In 2012, the company responded to the Land Derecho, increasing the driver count to 85-90, Hurricane Isaac with a driver count of 150, and Hurricane Sandy with over 300 deployed personnel activated. As a result of Cindy’s unwavering determination, the venture experienced 264% growth in 2012.
In 2013, Cindy received the 2012 Entrepreneur of the Year award from the Southeast Texas Economic Development Foundation, an affiliate of the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce. In her spare time, Cindy raises horses on her ranch, Skyband Ranch, in Winnie, TX. She also is the owner of the world renowned cutting horse, The Animal.
